E-Learning at the MGSoG

Why these online courses?
As our programs require (basic) knowledge in Economics / Mathematics / Statistics, we offer admitted students with less than average prior knowledge, the opportunity to follow applicable online courses, for a smooth transition to one our programs. Your application is being reviewed by the program coordinator. Depending on the advice of the coordinator, future students / fellows participate in (one of the) online courses.

Moreover, given the nature of our programs, it is very advantageous to already have some pre-knowledge on issues related to Governance and Political Science. In order to aid applicants with less than average prior knowledge in these topics to have a good start, we also offer an online course Governance & Political Science.

All online courses are flexible in the sense that students can participate irrespective of time and place. The only requirement is that students spend at least three weeks (full time) in participating in (each of) the online course(s). First, students complete an online Pre-Knowledge Test (diagnostic test). Depending on each student’s results, we will send out invitations to participate in the online courses.

The courses are generally free of charge*. Please note the actual costs per participant are paid by the MGSoG. In return of having free access, we expect participants to be:

  1. Motivated, able and willing to participate actively online on a regular basis for 6 weeks (in other words, have internet access and time).
  2. Motivated, able and willing to study about 80 hours for the entire course.
