Alumni

The Maastricht Graduate School of Governance is committed to keeping in touch with as many of its former students as possible. We are always especially pleased to re-establish contact with alumni who might not have been in touch with us for some time. There are several ways in order to keep up-to-date on the School’s activities and events. Of course there is the website but we also try and stay in touch personally by for example the Governance E-Gazette which is published (per e-mail) every month.

Alumni Day

On October 3rd we organise our first Alumni Day. Over 250 alumni are invited to participate in this unique event. The School has tried to implement as many of our alumni's suggestions send concerning the programme. It would be great to see all of our graduates back in Maastricht!

Although we work really hard to keep our Alumni database up to date we might have missed out on someone. If you're an alumni of the School and you did not get our invitation by e-mail we hereby kindly ask you to complete the online registration form:  http://www11.fdewb.unimaas.nl/nq.cfm?q=992207c5-f20f-6efd-fd92-cb10bcac7eb7  Please note that this form is also for the alumni that will not be participating on October 3rd.

Governance linkages & Partnerships
Presentations will be given by three alumni for 15 minutes each. Preferably we would like to give three alumni the opportunity to highlight a specific workplace challenge that they face regarding coordination between levels of governance that is required to ensure project design, funding, implementation, or evaluation is successfully carried out. For example: 1 alumnus working within a central state or international government planning office, 1 alumnus who is a current professional working with target groups at grassroots level and 1 alumnus employed with private corporation.

15.45 -16.45   MGSoG Alumni: A Community with Endless Possibilities

This session will provide an overview of the exciting way MGSoG has developed since its begin in 2002. Presentations will be made by key individuals involved in the setup of current projects that will have a big impact on the future of the school. The session will highlight the many oppurtunities that are currently available to MGSoG Alumni, such as academic research, a pool of interns and an ever expanding community of professional support.  The session will conclude with an oppurtunity for input from alumni in the many ways that they can contribute to the already bright future of the MGSoG community.

Communities
Several graduates of the Social Protection Financing programme have already set up their own environment to stay in touch, the MGSoG community website and the SPF/SPD Alumni Newsletter. This community also serves as an open forum to discuss ideas, professional experiences and projects in the fields of governance, social protection, public policy and other issues that form part of the learning environment of the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance. Already, this site is helpful in linking together friends from 18 different countries throughout the world. Please feel free to visit this website and contact the member of it asking for their experience and advice: www.mgsog.org

Through this network we try to establish a collective forum providing the necessary framework for interaction, exchange impressions, insights and expertise.

DEMOS
Our student association DEMOS has also developed a website for graduates from MGSoG. Please click here to visit their website.
