Alumni
Ambassadors network
The challenges ahead require our constant efforts and innovations. Students and staff must all share the ongoing stewardship of our School and of our academic mission. As for our alumni, we have created the Governance Ambassador network in which former students become the custodians of the School and the creators of new networks and recruiters of new students.
The network, how does it work?
As an ambassador you are the face of our School abroad and your activities range from giving presentations for different target groups (local universities, ngo's, consultancies etc.) to distributing posters, flyers or brochures, to attending local conferences, information sessions. In return Governance Ambassadors can participate in our workshops and seminars at a reduced fee or for free.

Nader Al-Wehibi: Social Protection Policy Graduate 2005
'Life is so fast!I can't believe that in the last few years, I spent 4 years in the US, one year and a half in Saudi Arabia, and one year already in the Netherlands! Yet, the year in the Netherlands was somewhat different than all the other years. It was more special, more profound. It was also richer and better. It is just as the saying goes; It is very hard to explain, yet very easy to comprehend!
In terms of academia, I went through a sizzling journey which lasted for 9 consecutive months. Although it may seem short, this journey is a complete life story by itself, in that it contained bad moments and good moments, happiness and sorrow, difficulties and ease.Overall, I must say, it was very intriguing, full of surprises and events.
I learned more than I anticipated, and became more interested in issues that I have never considered before. This journey basically sketched my road map, and gave me insights of the sort of subjects that I might be dealing with in the future. Bottom line, it removed much of the ambiguity that I had suffered from in the past.
Current function: Insurance Researcher at the General Organization of Social Insurance
Activities: presentation in GOSI, presentations at Pensions Organisations, presentation In Bahrain, presentations at the Ministry of Social Affairs Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Chris Esedebe:
Social Protection Financing graduate 2005
'In my own part of the world, a sponsorship for an in-service program by an employer as it happened to my colleague and me for the 2004/2005 Social Protection Financing Master program (SPF), usually comes with lots of challenges. More challenges if it has to do with going abroad for the program. These challenges were purely set on expectations from the employer and colleagues in the office on one hand and from friends and family on the other.
Fortunately, what has really given me confidence and a lot to look forward to, has to do with the way my management perceived and received our coming back to the office. Surprisingly, by the time we were back, there had been so many changes in the office resulting from the pension reform currently being implemented in the country. My colleague and I were employed to the Actuarial Department on resumption. To our surprise, the only two staff who were in that department had resigned with the organization. So, we were the only staff of the department with no prior experience working in an Actuarial Department and without any structure whatsoever. So far, we had to fall back on what we studied and gained in the SPF program to meet the demands and expectations of our management. And what an irony, some months before we came back to the office, the ILO was given the assignment to carry out the actuarial valuation of our organization. The evaluation and interpretation of the report of that assessment for wider comprehension by Management and other relevant staff of the Fund fell on our shoulders. We were also able to advise the Management on an appropriate course of action to take with respect to the recommendations contained in the report. These we have completed and I believe, to the satisfaction of the management.'
