Research Interest
My research consists in an economic
analysis of the ‘performance-based
contracts’ as a new tool to finance
health care systems in developing
countries. This type of incentives
contracts provide the health care
providers with bonuses if they meet
a targeted level of indicators
(output or input indicators). I will
use principal-agent theory to
analyze the relationships between
the actors involved in the contracts
(the international community (IC),
the national government (NG) and the
health care providers (HP)). In
early stage of my research, I will
focus on two models. In the first
one, I will compare two structures:
the first is when the principal (who
set up the contract) is the IC and
the second one is when the NG is the
principal. In the second model, I
will endogenize the type of
contract. I will thus compare what
type of contract (output indicators
or both inputs and outputs
indicators) should be set up
depending on who is the principal. |
