Research Discription
Ethnic mobilisation is undeniably
one of the most intense forms of
conflict in today’s European
politics. For that reason, my PhD
research seeks to analyse the
socio-political determinants which
impact the strength as well as the
distribution of ethnic mobilisation
movements among and across ethnic
group minorities in Europe. The
project is particularly designed to
find out why some European ethnic
groups mobilise more strongly in
obtaining their self-determination
goals while others do not. By ethnic
mobilisation we understand the
desire of ethnic minorities to seek
greater levels of autonomy or to
protest against the state authority.
