How to reach us
Route description
The Maastricht Graduate School of Governance is located at
the Kapoenstraat 2 in the city centre of Maastricht and can be reached in several ways.
By plane
We strongly recommend our
guests traveling to Maastricht to
go through the international
airports listed below and not
through Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
Arrival at Brussels (Zaventem), Belgium
The best way to reach Maastricht is by train. There is a train station at the airport where you can buy your train ticket to Maastricht. Please note that you have to switch trains in Brussels Nord and in Liège- Guillemins. Price indication: 30 euros.
It takes approximately 2 hours to get from the airport to Maastricht central station. Here, you can take a bus to
the Vrijthof. The Kapoenstraat 2 is
within a 2 minute walking distance
from the Vrijthof. You can also take a taxi from the station to the
Kapoenstraat. There are always several taxi’s waiting at the station. You can also arrange for an airport shuttle service (let somebody of the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance arrange this for you a week in advance) that can get you to Maastricht in about 1 hour. Price indication: 35 euros

Arrival at Düsseldorf, Germany
You can take the tram to Düsseldorf ‘Hauptbahnhof’ (main station) and then go by train to Aachen Hauptbahnhof. It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. From there you can take a train to Maastricht via Heerlen or go by bus, which is faster. Line 420
takes about one hour to get you to
Maastricht. Price indication total: 20 euros.
At Maastricht central station, you can take a bus to
the Vrijthof. The Kapoenstraat 2 is
within a 2 minute walking distance
from the Vrijthof. You can also take a taxi from the station to the
Kapoenstraat. There are always several taxi’s waiting at the station.

Arrival at Maastricht-Aachen Airport, the Netherlands
In front of the small regional airport there is a taxi stand as well as a bus stop. Bus 61 (51 on Sundays) will take you from the airport to Maastricht central station. The bus ride takes approximately 20 minutes and costs around 5 euros. From the station, you can take a bus to
the Vrijthof. The Kapoenstraat 2 is
within a 2 minute walking distance
from the Vrijthof. A taxi will cost about 25 euros.

Arrival at Cologne/Bonn, Germany
You can go by train to Aachen Hauptbahnhof
(Central Station). It’s about 1.5 hours travel. From there you can take a train to Maastricht via Heerlen or go by bus, which is faster.
Line 50 takes about one hour
to get you to Maastricht. Price indication total: 20 euros.

By bus
There are several bus lines departing from the central station. Take bus 3
in the direction Wolder, 4 in the
direction Villapark or 53 in the
direction Maastricht Pottenberg and exit on the stop
Vrijthof. The Kapoenstraat 2 is within
a 2 minute walking distance
from the Vrijthof.
Railway
Travellers by train can take a train to the Maastricht central station, from where they can take busses
3, 4 or 53 in direction of the
city centre. The Maastricht Graduate
School of Governance building is
within a 2 minute walking distance of

Car
A2/A79 (From Eindhoven/Heerlen/Aken)
At the first traffic lights at
the highway (A2) you go straight on
as for LUIK/MECC direction. After
the fifth traffic light, at the "Europaplein",
follow CENTRUM. Then after crossing
the Kennedy bridge, keep the right
lane, and before the second traffic
light, turn right, you are now in
the St Hubertuslaan. Follow the road
to the left, go straight on untill
over the bridge, then turn straight
right: St Pieterstraat. Take the
fourth street on the left, you are
now in the Witmakerstraat. At the
end of the Witmakerstraat turn
right, you are now at the
Kapoenstraat. The Maastricht
Graduate School of Governance is
about 100 meters straight, on your
left. For parking, turn straight
left into the Lenculenstraat, and
use the entrance of the Law Faculty
for visiting parking facilities. The
Maastricht Graduate School of
Governance is on the right hand
side.
A2/E25/E40 (From Liege/ Brussels/ Verviers)
Take the exit lane for the LUIK/MECC
direction. Follow CENTRUM. Then
after crossing the Kennedy bridge,
keep the right lane, and before the
second traffic light, turn right,
you are now in the St Hubertuslaan.
Follow the road to the left, go
straight on untill over the bridge,
then turn straight right: St
Pieterstraat. Take the fourth street
on the left, you are now in the
Witmakerstraat. At the end of the
Witmakerstraat turn right, you are
now at the Kapoenstraat. The
Maastricht Graduate School of
Governance is about 100 meters
straight, on your left. For parking,
turn straight left into the
