Application Procedure

of one-year master's programme

Applications cannot be held over until the following year. If you wish to re-apply, you must submit a new form next year.

Application advice
Formal admission documentation will be received by the admitted student latest 2 months before the start of the course. Information about housing and insurance will be included in the formal admission documentation.

Documents needed
The following documents have to be included in your application (please note our recommendations for sending options):
• certified copies of your certificates and grades (preferably scanned)
• proof of English proficiency (preferably scanned)
• essay (in word or pfd format)
• motivation letter (preferably in word or pdf)
• two letters of recommendation (preferably scanned, but hard copies need to be sent as well)
• curriculum vitae (in word or pdf format)
• copy of your passport (preferably scanned)
• passport size picture (preferably scanned).

Visa and residence permit
The University Visa Office assists one-year students with their visa application. The student is responsible for the on-time delivery of all documentation that is necessary for the visa application. Insufficient documentation or late delivery thereof can lead to delays in approval of, or even disapproval of the visa application. The University cannot be held responsible for any costs related to delays in approval, or disapproval, of the visa application.

Insurance
The Maastricht Graduate School of Governance can arrange insurance for students covering the complete study period. The insurance costs approximately 465 euros (for one year) and are paid by the student. Students have the possibility to decide to arrange insurance themselves. However, in such case the School will no longer assist the student with his or her visa application. No refunds of the insurance fees is possible after the program has started.

Scholarships
Please keep in mind that most application deadlines for scholarships are often set early in the academic year. Thus it is important to submit the application form as soon as possible.
