Procedure


If you meet the requirements that are set for the MGSoG Scholarship Fund. Please feel free to submit an application.

In short, the requirements for the MGSoG scholarship

Scholarships will only be awarded to students from non-OECD member countries, the Czech Republic, Poland, Korea and Mexico.
The scholarships are only for students following a one-year master program.
Students applying for an MGSoG Scholarship will be evaluated on expertise (work experience, degree), skills (mathematics and English), as well as motivation. The most eligible students will be given a scholarship.

If you wish to apply for this scholarship, you have to submit in an application form (MGSoG Scholarship Application Form).
Please note that scholarship applications cannot be held over until the following year. If you wish to re-apply, you must submit a new form next year.
In addition to this, the scholarships provided by the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance can only be used in conjunction with formal admission and registration to a one-year Master program. All applicants will be informed after the deadline of the scholarship application. Please read the MGSoG Scholarship Terms of Agreement before applying.

MGSoG Scholarship Terms of Agreement
I. I am informed and in agreement with the terms and conditions provided to me regarding the scholarship which has been awarded to me by the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance MGSoG. I understand and accept the condition that if I default on any terms associated with this scholarship, I will be immediately terminated from the program, my allowances will be stopped and that the MGSoG has the right to request repayment of the allowances awarded to me until program termination.
II. My right to the MGSoG admission and scholarship will be stopped if admission to the program(s) of the MGSoG and or the scholarship was obtained through the use of falsified, altered or embellished information.
III. In order not to lose the right for receiving a MGSoG scholarship I have to either complete the master program within a maximum of one year or in case of a training module at latest with the re-sit of the respective training module. If I am not able to do so, I have to show that I devoted as much effort and resolve into reaching it as was possible for me. I am also not allowed to leave Maastricht before having finished my thesis.
IV. In case of termination from the program, when the provided funds have not been used for study-related expenses, the study is stopped before the previously agreed time, I lose the right for receiving a MGSoG scholarship and the MGSoG can claim back the awarded grant, partially or fully.
V. I will maintain the required academic grades and attendance standards as set by the coordinators of the courses that I am awarded scholarship for. If I am absent from the course in as much that I cannot fulfil my participation requirements, I understand that disbursement of the scholarship will be at least suspended for the respective course or stopped completely.
VI. If I fail to maintain the required academic performance or commit criminal offences/misdemeanours, such as engaging in illegal employment or unacceptable offensive conduct towards staff, fellow students and program related personnel, I will be terminated from the program of study and scholarship.
VII. If I have expenses that exceed the amount of the scholarship award, I will be responsible for these costs.
VIII. I am obliged to immediately inform the MGSoG about alternative sources of financing as they occur (e.g. employer, other scholarships). In case other sources of financing become available to me, the MGSoG scholarship will be withdrawn completely or partially, depending on the amount of alternative financing. If I fail to inform the MGSoG immediately in writing about alternative finances, term II. is applied and admission to the program(s) for me may be suspended.
IX. All disputes concerning the MGSoG scholarship that cannot be solved by the MGSoG Scholarship Terms of Agreement will be submitted to the Legal Department of the Maastricht University that will take the final decision.
