Solutions for a complex world
Governance, Conflict and Crisis, and Aid Effectiveness
24-25 November 2008

The European PhD Programme in Social Protection Policy (ESPP) and the Dual Career PhD Programme in Governance and Policy Analysis (GPAC2) of the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance invite junior and senior researchers to participate in a research conference on “Governance, Aid Effectiveness, Conflict and Crisis” on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 November 2008 in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

The European PhD Programme in Social Protection Policy (ESPP) trains young researchers in social protection and social policy in a European and multidisciplinary perspective. The programme finds it strengths in pooling the resources of 13 top research institutes and universities in 9 EU-countries. The programme is supported by the European Union Marie Curie Human Resources and Mobility Programme.

The Dual Career PhD programme in Governance and Policy Analysis (GPAC²) offers policy analysts and consultants from the public and private sector the opportunity to participate in courses, seminars and workshops that support their ambitions and intensify their research and analytical skills. The program is designed to fit the needs and possibilities of researchers with a daily job and optimizes the conditions allowing the participants to combine their careers with finishing a PhD.

The Research Conference will be held in Maastricht, the Netherlands. It brings together senior and junior researchers with diverse academic background to share ideas on the relation between governance, aid effectiveness and conflict and crisis studied from various angles.
