Anwar Shah

 

Anwar Shah (Ph.D. economics) is the lead economist and program leader for public sector governance at the World Bank Institute, Washington, D.C. He is a member of the executive board of the International Institute of Public Finance, Munich, Germany and also a fellow of the Institute for Public Economics, Alberta, Canada. He has previously served the Canadian Ministry of Finance in Ottawa and the Government of the Province of Alberta, Canada.  He pioneered the work on governance indicators at the World Bank and has published extensively on governance issues including an evaluation of the World Bank’s governance and anticorruption assistance.
